Funeral Expense payment repayment?

Hello My mother passed away so we had to claim help towards the funeral, we recieved the DWP letter today to say we got £1953 but in part of the letter it mentions details of the payment will be passed to DWP Recovery from Estates who will contact me for information of any estate. I would expect you would get that amount- assuming the expenses claimed are allowable- less the money available from the estate.

If you have already received the funeral grant then they may claim the £1950 so I would not distribute that money until you know if it will be claimed.

There is only £1 left from the grant, not sure they will bother to reclaim that.
