Yahoo search redirect virus

I appear to have the Yahoo search redirect virus. When I open Chrome the search box is the yahoo search box and the results are from a yahoo search. I downloaded AVAST but it found nothing so I uninstalled and tried AVG. Even an AVG deep scan found nothing. Does anyone have any idea as to what I can do next?
Many Thanks.

I don't use Chrome but have you checked any add ons (think it' might be extensions)

Have you tried Chrome/settings/search engine and deleted any search engines that you don't want? it happens to me regularly, I suspect as a result of windows update

    Thanks everyone.

I have tried resetting the defaults including the reset all button. The settings say I am searching with google but it always goes to a Yahoo search page. I tried updating Chrome which solved the problem until I closed Chrome and then reopened it, at which point it returned.
I also tried deleting Yahoo as a search option but it didn't help.
There seems to be very little information about this virus. It doesn't seem to be malicious, just annoying.

I have a partial answer. AVG comes with a secure browser which looks exactly like Chrome (well, once you delete all the spam links it adds). AVG is probably using the Chrome front end. That is a perfectly acceptable answer and has cured the problem. I might uninstall Chrome but its possible the AVG browser is using it for something. I'll have to think about it.

Do be careful when installing anything, including the programs recommended here. Make sure that you read the options before clicking Next during installation. Otherwise it's possible that you inadvertently install something else.

Have you also checked installed  programs/apps in settings on your OS.

Thanks. I've checked all installed apps and deleted about 7 that I didn't recognize, although I'm sure they were just random junk W10 installed.

The best way I find is when checking installed programs is sort it in date order so the newly installed programs stand out.

I've seen that article. It looks complicated so I decided to uninstall Chrome and go with the AVG secure browser.
    No problems so far.

I know where I picked this up. I searched for a mod for a game I wanted but instead of downloading from Nexus Mods it downloaded from 'the PC app store' which was a free download. Too late I realized I was not on the site I thought I was. We live and learn.

PS AVG installs an extension called 'coupons' which you can't uninstall but can turn off. The price of free software I guess.
