incorrect booking with lastminute.com

My husband decided to book with last minute.com, he searched for 28th of july-31st and booked one we would like for my 40th, when are kids are away with grandparents.
 When the booking confirmation came through it was for the 23rd of June. We tried talking to lastminute.com, only instant chat available, they would not help or cancel or refund or anything. They said ring the hotel, after we got through to the hotel they said ring back in the morning and they could sort. When we did they said they could only speak to lastminute.com!?!?!
what do we do now. it's nearly 1400 in the bin. MY husband is so upset and stressed

please can anyone advise!?!?!? HELP

Terrible company...

Do you have any evidence that the wrong dates were the result of their system rather than your error?

(The last time I used LM, the I got to the final payment page and just before clicking I noticed that the dates had changed. I considered that a lucky escape.)

Valid point. I can look on the pc when I get home. The cookies and search history would hopefully contain a record, as it was the only date we had been searching

Is it is it just a hotel booking or a trip including flights?

Most of what they sell seems to be the cheaper non-refundable type of room, flight etc. This will ultimately lead to issues if you are looking to change anything. 

You will need some proof that it wasn’t just your husband selecting the wrong dates and/or checking the final details before pressing the ‘buy’ button.
