Yodel drop off shops refusing parcel

As per the title I’ve sold a Wii Guitar Hero World Tour which is large (about 75 inches by 40 by 40). The only affordable parcel service was Yodel so used them and printed out the label.
However 3 drop off shops have now refused to accept the parcel which is really annoying as I have paid to use their service.
Just wondered if anyone else has had a similar experience or what I should do next apart from drive around till I find one that will take it.

Yes, with all couriers had issues that small shops dont want to take large parcels.

Looking at Yodel's site they say the maximum single dimension is 60cm but yours is 75" so 190cm.

We tend to take the slightly larger parcels to our local shop because they know us and turn a bit of a blind eye. If I use Yodel's website to take a parcel 190cm long it rejects it saying its too large

6 foot 4 inches - really ? No wonder they won't take it.

  • Sorry I meant it was about 75cms by 40cms by 40cms.
So about 30 inches in length.
  • In eBay when I choose large parcel the yodel service on offer (see top of photo) is the following.
So I’m not sure why shops won’t accept it.

Many smaller shops enforce their own size limits which is understandable (although annoying to people trying to drop parcels off).  This happens with other delivery companies as well as Yodel.

This is covered a lot on various Vinted forums, people suggesting you need to try and drop off larger parcels immediately after a collection when the shop has room to store them. One of my local shops just piles them all by the door, and the moment someone can’t get in with a pushchair or pram they refuse to take any more.

If I am forced to use them my local (tiny) store prefer me to drop something bigish off just before the collection is due. Id never try it on a weekend for example.
