Quick one: rebate due from the Revenue

I'm due a rebate from the Revenue in recognition of an overpayment of income tax last financial year - received the letter yesterday. Do I need to ring them to ask for a cheque to be sent, or is it done automatically? Can't remember and it's quicker to ask on here than spend time hanging on the line to the tax people (lazy, I know!).
The rebate has been prompted by submission of a Tax Return, by the way, and does not involve my employer directly.

Assuming the letter you received is your Self Assessment calculation (SA302) then you can check your Self Assessment account online and if it hasn't automatically been repaid you can provide bank details for it to be repaid to.
I think cheques are a last resort these days.2 -
