Washer help

We have a candy cbwm 814dc-80 that refuses to drain from the tray. I made the mistake of putting it in the dish washer so it’s not straight now either, we’ve cleaned all the top holes but wondered if there was anything else we can try before I look to replace the tray.

As in the soap filling tray?
Mr Generous - Landlord for more than 10 years. Generous? - Possibly but sarcastic more likely.0 -
That’s it, it never drains.Mr.Generous said:As in the soap filling tray?0 -
Candy spare parts. Is this the one?

Im not familar with this candy but the usual thing to do would be to take the top off the washing machine and blow out the 4 or so rubber hoses that come out the back of the tray housing.
If the clips on the pipes are rusty the sometimes snap when removed.
Problems more common where people have put powder in the drawer.
Always turn the water supply and power off and isolate before evening thinking of taking the thing apart.0 -
Hi CST89.
Could you explain in more detail, please - what doesn't drain? The detergent? The conditioner? Neither?
And, are you sure that water is being directed into the compartments?
Looking at jusferbrowsing's link, that shows a tray designed (I think) for powder detergent on either side, and liquid (conditioner) in the middle. If using a liquid detergent, then usually a plastic 'back' piece is slotted in to the side compartments (tho' I can't see a slot space for it).
Whatevs, if you pull out the tray - even remove it - and start a cycle going, you should see the water being jetted down from above into where these compartments would be. (It shouldn't pour out of the machine, even with tray missing).
Check the jets work correctly, for pre-wash, main, and cond.
If they don't, then it's likely a failed inlet solenoid valve - the electric 'tap' that turns the water inlet on and off.

I’ll give it a go, pain in the backside to get out with it being integrated and a tight figment for the feeds but will give it a go thank you.Lorian said:Im not familar with this candy but the usual thing to do would be to take the top off the washing machine and blow out the 4 or so rubber hoses that come out the back of the tray housing.

It’s the conditioner, I’ve not taken the try out but I do note you can hear the water going in. I’ll do a run with no tray and see what it’s like.ThisIsWeird said:Hi CST89.

Conditioner not draining is really quite common. The fill holes that allow water into the conditioner container will be clogged with algae. It should be possible to clean this by removing the drawer and then taking an old toothbrush to the roof of the slot above where the conditioner portion of the container should be. If you look into the drawer space of the machine, you should see the black gunk that you need to remove, but the gunk continues up behind the holes that the water comes out of. Sometimes a small cable-tie can be used to poke through the holes to help clean them.0

Just a little tip. When you've finished using the washing machine, leave the door and detergent drawer open. I have found that it stops the black mold forming inside as opening it helps it dry out. Also probably sounds like the water jets are blocked. No expert but have had a Candy washing machine and I had same issue.0

If the water isn't draining, clean the siphon hole. If water isn't going in, clean the roof of the tray compartment.
