Who decides what to talk about in counselling?

This competition will provide ten winners with a free online counselling session each, lasting for one hour. Their details will be sent to Velaris Counselling by the competition organisers. Details will be stored on a practice management software that is secure and GDPR-compliant. A single counsellor will use these details to contact each winner, referred to as a 'client'. Their details will be used for no other purpose and will be shared with no further individuals or organisations.

In order for the counselling session to take place, the client will need to have access to: a computer; a secure, quality Internet connection; and a private room in which to meet where they will be undisturbed and not overhead. They agree to treat their counsellor with respect.

The winner and runners-up must agree to the terms of Velaris Counselling before sessions commence, which will be outlined in a Counselling Contract between the client and practitioner. Velaris Counselling reserves the right not to work with clients who do not agree to the terms. This includes agreeing that Velaris Counselling will not act in a way that contravenes the Ethical Framework of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists.

Please note that this competition is for one online counselling session, and your counsellor will be unable to provide free ongoing support. They may be able to signpost you to helpful resources, organisations and private therapy. However, please consider your emotional needs before entering and appreciate that your counsellor will be unable to meet for longer than one hour with you for your free single session.
