Passport renewal and divorce

My UK passport has ran out and I am looking to renew it.  I am going through a divorce at the moment but I do not intend to change my name after divorce, which I understand I am entitled to do.

Can I renew my passport now and not have to change it after divorce because I am not changing my name?

Do I need to inform the passport office after I have got divorced if my name stays the same and I am also keeping the "Mrs" title, which I understand I can also do?

You can do it now, they don't care about the divorce , only that it's not a fake application

Why would you need to change your passport after divorce if you are not changing your title or name?

Of course you can keep your current title and name. "Mrs" Lincroft, is actually "Mrs Smith", she divorced "Mr Smith" over 20 years ago.
If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales

I just wanted to check that I can renew now rather than wait until after the divorce.  I don't need the passport as I am not travelling abroad but I might as well renew it now if the divorce doesn't have any impact on the new passport.

So I am currently Mrs AskAsk, and I plan to keep to Mrs AskAsk after the divorce, so hopefully everything will just be simple and no need to tell anyone of a name or title  change, like my bank, GP etc

Your divorce makes no difference. You will not be changing your name so you can renew it as normal and there is no need to mention that you are now divorced (or getting divorced)
