Do all garden hose fixings leak?

I have an old K3 karcher washer but when i tried using it recently the fixings for my garden hose which feed the pressure washer from the tap were leaking at both ends.

Can anyone recommend the best garden hose or fixings that are less likely to leak, I am on a water meter so water leaking all over the drive is not what i want during washing.

I looked at the reviews for an actual Karcher hose and fixings and people were saying it leaks so i have put off buying that one and are looking to see if metal fixings are any better.
Enjoy everyday like it's your last!

Renew and replace the rubber o-rings on the fixed male parts.
A smear of silicon grease can help.

Yes most of them start to leak as the plastics and o-rings wear and/or the hose to connector joint is subjected to (ab)use.

The water lost from such leaks is miniscule compared to the pressure washer itself though... your K3 has a max flow rate of 380 litres per hour.

In answer to your post title - yes if you mean those push-on type. Useless things that drip water everywhere.

Far better to have a screwed on or jubilee clipped connector but these aren't quick to deploy.

Don't leave them out in the winter. Replace the o rings when they perish. Put silicon grease on the o rings. Use the metal screw on adapters not plastic. Don't leave the hose in the sunshine while it's full of water.

You can buy generic brass fittings online and elsewhere that last MUCH longer than plastic- particularly Hozelock - fittings. Although I have never had any trouble with the one supplied with my Karcher jet washers.

Not had any real problem with plastic or metal fittings. Currently have a couple of those expanding hoses, and I must say, they are just crap from start to finish. Darn things leak around the fittings, and after time, along the whole length.
