Travel insurance while waiting for hospital appointment

Hi all, currently waiting on a ln appointment to get a 24hr heart rate monitor fitted but seen a last minute holiday. Having looking at travel insurance and spoke to a few providers it seems it's problematic to get cover due to undiagnosed condition.

Looking for any advice on this, I've seen stay sure mentioned elsewhere, as I understand it they would insure for anything not related to the "issue"? Anybody got any experience of using this or similar?

I'm concerned that it I get rejected for insurance then I've technically had insurance declined (which is always asked on future applications)

Plan would be for rest of the family to get normal cover on their own and then me get my own policy

I've had travel insurance with medical conditions from the post office and staysure.
Personally i would get a family policy then if you couldn't travel they should be covered should you all need to cancel due to the declared condition,

I had an existing policy with staysure and when I informed them I was waiting for the outcome of investigations, the condition was excluded. It wasn’t anything major that stopped me from travelling, but they could have cancelled the insurance.
For something heart related, it’s not a chance I would want to take. Because  the exclusions cover anything that can be either directly or indirectly related to the condition which gives a fairly wide scope for things that may not be covered.

Cover for known conditions isn’t a problem. Insurers don’t like covering uncertainties where the results of tests are being waited for. They want specific labels for any illnesses or conditions and if you say you’re not sure then they don’t want to cover it.

ETA – I don’t think being declined cover at a particular point is anywhere near as relevant for travel insurance as it is for car and house insurance, for example.
