    Well done anyway, only thing stopping me doing the same is potential effect on resale value of the property. Octopus are quite good on payments for solar and battery export and would do a lot more than cover s/c, though how long it would take to get the money for certification, etc back is another matter. Fantastic not to contribute to the energy company vampires, though!
    Perhaps you think I opted for the mains to be disconnected at a cost of about £150, then another £150 to have it reconnected some time. No, I was lucky that my energy provider simply refunds my standing charge. How would it impact the value of a house, though? I'd assume a seller would be unlikely to find a buyer enthusiastic about stand alone solar systems like mine or the OPs. So I'd remove all traces of it and turn expensive, poor value mains electricity back on, ready for a prospective purchaser.
