Our neighbour is having an extension and I have noticed that part of the new ridge roof is on our flat roof. Nothing has been said to us regarding this and we need advice as to whether they can do this or who I would need to contact to sort this out.

I'd go round and talk to your neighbour about this with the photos. They shouldn't be building the roof on top of yours, and they need to correct this (and ensure it's not draining onto your roof as well)

Those tiles don't look right for that pitch of roof and that overhang looks awful. Show your neighbour the images as Emmia suggests because I would be unhappy if my builder did that.

Minimum pitch of a tiled roof is between 15° and 40° depending on the tile. As you go lower, the overlap needs to increase. But that isn't going to be your problem.
What is an issue is the overhang on to your roof - This will cause a real headache when your flat roof needs to be recovered.

That has to be the worst roof I have seen. Cow boy builders 100%. I would be tempted to contact the councils building control with thise photos...
  • Update I have now been in touch with the council building control and now in their hands so will have to wait and see.
