i have 18 days to decide that, would like to know historically what happens to gas prices in the winter.0

Tracker price last winter was well below the price cap at the time and were below the July 2024 price cap too, scaremongering stories of gas prices doubling simply didnt materalise.
You can see for yourself, over winter 2023-24 the wholesale gas price actually fell sharply - https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/topics/cxwdwz5d8gxt0 -
Last winter was far from typical. Firstly prices still falling from the highs of the last couple of years - that has now stopped, also an unusual amount of unsettled windy and quite mild weather, with hardly any of the very cold and calm conditions which would send energy prices up. Once again, not typical. So this coming winter could be very different to last. However, no one knows.2
