Neighbour works, house shaking

Two doors down are building a whole new house with basement.
The last two days my whole house is shaking. The chair I'm sat on, the floor lamp etc actually moving.
How concerned should I be?
What, if any, actions should I take?
I have a letter from the contractor with contact details, should I phone/email them?
Tell the council, building control? Planning dept?
Any advice gratefully received, I'm quite frightened.

I wouldn't worry too much if it's just shaking. I assume it's an old house and chances are there isn't much of a foundation.

If cracks appear then start worrying, probably speak to the builder in the first instance.
