Hi was just wondering if anyone knew any way to actually get through to halifax other than phoning and going into the branch? I went into the branch and was told that they could not access my account as it had been passed on to the head office explained that i had tried calling etc but had no luck, said there was nothing they could do and i was to call the 24 hour banking number on the back of the card (which i have been phoning since od got cancelled and had no luck) came home spoke to head office explained the circumstances and that i would pay back at the end of month asked them to suspend the account so wouldnt get charges (as recieved yet another one) that was all fine was in the process of putting all the details through when the call was terminated tried phoning back got told they couldnt suspend the account and needed payment in full explained everything again nothing they could do line goes dead and every other time i phone head office the line goes dead as soon as someone answers  don know how im supposed to get this sorted out when getting no luck on the phone or in the branch

You could try writing, by recorded delivery, to a 'named person' at your branch. That way you will have a record, and they will not be able to deny having received your letter.
I am NOT, nor do I profess to be, a Qualified Debt Adviser. I have made MANY mistakes and have OFTEN been the unwitting victim of the the shamefull tactics of the Financial Industry.
If any of my experiences, or the knowledge that I have gained from those experiences, can help anyone who finds themselves in similar circumstances, then my experiences have not been in vain.

That might sound like a good idea, but it's no more effective just because you name an individual. The recorded delivery letter could be signed for by anyone at the branch - and probably will be. All you will prove is that it was delivered to the branch.
