Applied for a barclaycard as checked on the eligibility thing and it said I had a high chance of acceptance, anyways I found out today I got accepted and the limit is £850 so not too shabby for an initial limit, thing I wanted to ask do they require income proof from everyone as they haven’t said anything about that, they just said I’ve got a £850 limit but didn’t say anything like you’ve got £2K but £850 currently until you unlock the higher limit so I’m guessing they don’t do this with everyone?.

Your limit is what it is. If they wanted income verification, they would usually ask for this before approval.

I’ve seen some on here who have been sent the card though with a very small limit something around £50 and then once they provide details they up there limit to the higher offered limit, like you say though they probably would of done similar with me if that was the case.0

Limits are set based on your declared income and the credit report that they run. If you manage the card well they will probably run the checks again at some point and put the limit up if they judge your risk profile is sufficient to cover the risk.
Sam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:
People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.
