lastminute.com booked the wrong room

Options
I booked a room in an aparthotel next week in France, through lastminute.com, choosing a larger 23sqm room with a kitchenette so that we could cook meals for my wife's dietary requirements.

You'll see from the screenshots that lastminute.com refer to the 23sqm room as a 'double room' which matches the wording of the confirmation email, and they have a smaller 16sqm 'double economy room'. To be clear, I clicked 'continue' in the Double Room listing.

Having not used lastminute.com before I checked the booking with the hotel, who say we have the 16sqm economy room without the kitchenette.

I've been trying since Friday to get lastminute.com to sort this out, they say it's been escalated but I worry nothing will happen.

If I cancel, I lose most of the money. Do I have any other options? I need the room I booked, I don't just want e.g. a partial refund when we get home.

Obviously not all the details are showing in your screen shots, but from what is visible to us the 'double economy' room, which is what you  appear to have booked, appears to be the only one of the four with a 'fully equipped kitchen', which you say is what you were looking for even though it is smaller at 16m3 than some of the others.

so is your priority size or cooking facilities ?

The lastminute.com listing is wrong, according to the hotel's own website the economy room doesn't have a kitchen.

Have you tried asking hotel to upgrade you?
Would seem to be the path of least resistance.

Have you taken a screenshot of the ‘incorrect’ details so that if this is not corrected you have proof and keep all food receipts and claim upon return.
