I have to attend Work Focused interview, although it is legally not required

Hi, My partner is working full time and earning more than the minimum requirement, do I have to attend Work Focused interview?

I Have a joint claim with my partner he is employed and earns around £1800 a month, we have 2 kids (2&6) I am House maker without any income.

We have been moved from child tax credit to Universal credit. Now I have been put on Work Focused interview for every 4 weeks. The first Work Focused interview was in April this year. As I told my case worker that my partner is working full time and is earning more the minimum salary which is required that I have not to look for a job and asked him why I am put on Work Focused interview. The case workeer confirmed me that I have not to look for a job, and there are some issues with there system as my daughter is 2 years old, so I have to attend the 4 weeks work focused interview.

Please can someone explain how this works? It doesn’t make any sense for me to rush every 4 weeks when I am not legally required to attend such interview. Can someone explain me how can I get rid of this, please?

Isn't this to prepare you to go back into work, when the time comes? So identify any training needs or look over your CV, etc?

You are required to attend work-focused interviews, unfortunately. You could even be required to carry out some work preparation activities.

Although your partner is earning over the Administrative Earnings Threshold, you are not in the light touch regime due to being the main carer of a child under 3 years old.

Even had you been in the light touch regime, they can still legally call you in for interviews (and make you do some work preparation activities). In practice (at the moment), people in the light touch regime are not called in for interviews, but as above you are not in the light touch regime.
