Safest and best 1 year investment

i will have a large sum to invest for about 1 year. I want to be able to access it if necessary and also to avoid any risk. I know that anything above £85k could potentially be at risk. Is the safest way to open several deposit accounts and each one not exceeding £85k?

Or with NS&I where the £85k doesn't matter.

That's one way, do you have a spouse? Joint accounts would half the number you needOr maybe look at one of the NS&I accounts. Rates aren't great but no need to limit the account(s) to £85,0001

Investing is usually for 10 years or more . 1 year timespan is saving3

Gilts maturing in a year could be an option as well - guaranteed return if held, but can be easily sold in seconds if necessary.

If it's a temporary high balance due to an eligible life event, you may be covered for more than £85k for 6 months.

Can give a bit of time to make decisions if you've come into it suddenly.
