Abroad I would always withdraw cash on my Kroo debit card. Santander Edge Credit card charges a transaction free plus you have to pay interest from the date of your withdrawal.Same at home too.

I use Santander credit for purchase for both .. but I would use the edge debit card for pulling out cash0

The Edge credit card does not incur transaction fees for goods and services abroad - only interest and a cash transaction fee for currency withdrawals at ATMs - same as just about every other credit card. The Edge debit card is free of all fees if used to take cash from a fully branded Banco Santander ATM located at one of their branches in eleven countries - as listed on UK Santander website, also at any other fee free ATMs.These vary from country to country. An excellent choice for Spain and the Canaries, for example.

MSE flags up the Edge debit card as a top choice on their multi option drop down menu - not listing the credit card though - not on the menu.
