Used Car From Audi , Issues After 6 Months - Need Advice

Hey there,

Looking for any advice on this.

My mum bought a used Audi from an official Audi garage and she's encountered some major issues with the car. The car has a 1 year warranty but we're not sure how to approach it.

She's had the car for 6 months, and we've got a major issue with the convertible roof (it won't open or close properly, displays engine light, still awaiting diagnosis & cost), AC condenser and seals need replacing (£1035), stop start switch replacement (£188).

It's currently in the shop with the latter 2 issues diagnoses, still awaiting the roof.

We're not sure what to do but it seems like they want us to pay for these things which we're not happy about - any help is greatly appreciated!

What does the warranty cover?

Were these faults with the car raised with the warranty people?  When I had warranty claims on a used car I'd bought, the warranty people sorted everything out directly with the garage.

Age, mileage, cost?

Seals are usually excluded, but the roof and other parts should be covered as long as they can't attribute it to damage (like obstructions causing damage to the roof mechanics for example).

Who is the warranty with? 

Is it an Audi warranty for a car under 3 years old or an extended warranty supplied by the garage or one your mum paid for?

What does the warranty information say is covered?

Has your mother asked the garage why she is being asked to pay?
