Lines on tv insurance question

I have insurance for my Phillips led ambilight tv with domestic and general my tv has just been out on this morning and it has lines on it across the top and middle would I be able to claim for it says that if it suffers a mechanical or electrical breakdown after the manufacturers guarantee they will at there option arrange a repair or replacement do you think this would cover this? Thank you 🙏

It sounds like you do have something that could be called an electrical issue but if you have a manufacturer's guarantee you have to claim on that first.  Depending on your retailer you might want to go to them

It's a warranty and so they can have more or less whatever terms they want. Some will ask for a receipt, mainly manufacturer or retailer warranties, and others dont (more commonly third party). In some cases the receipt is provided at registration stage so isn't needed at claims stage.

Thank you they didn’t ask me for receipt when I registered my item with them so hopefully they won’t require it if the product needs replacing the lady on the phone told me it has been passed to the claims department that she could usually book a repair but it wouldn’t let her but fingers crossed is there anything I can say if they ask for this ie they didn’t ask for this when I registered my item? Thank you
