Layover at Istanbul (IST) hotel transfers

Options
Looking for a hotel for a one night layover and at Booking.com besides a couple of hotels it seems you have to book first and then find out how much the transfers cost to and from the airport. I've only tried 2 that are 4/5 miles from the airport and they've quoted 50/55 euros each way. I'm not sure how many to try as it seems ridiculous they don't show the price in the hotel info so you can compare total hotel costs more easily. Has anyone else experienced this?

Istanbul has a transit hotel on site - Yotel.  If you use the Rome2Rio website it will give you an idea of transfer costs to and from other hotels - I would have thought far less than €20 each way.

Yotel airside is £139 for a cabin with shared bathroom (plus £21 breakfast) and Yotel landside ridiculous £274 plus £22 breakfast. Airside is simple but I'm not just staying airside I want to go into Istanbul on a tour so besides being a bit pricey I'm not sure if it'd be too messy leaving and re-entering airside. On the other hand I'll be shattered and don't want to be booking somewhere inconvenient

You can message each hotel to ask the transfer cost prior to booking.

In any case, IST is served by the Havas bus and by the Metro so you do not need to pay for over-priced transfers.

    Hotel transfers generally are overpriced.

There is an airline pod hotel within the transit area. Simon Wilson is an example of a vlogger who has used it, as I appreciate this won't be for everyone.

The airport is served by metro, so it may be worth picking a hotel close to the line (Google is a good price comparison with location option, however may not give any site specific discounts that you may be entitled to which can be 10%+).

We had hotel pick up for £60 but it was a Merc S class so we were quite happy with that. We were staying just outside Gulhane Park
