MSE Cheap Energy Club Calculator: No Octopus Flexible vs Octopus Fixed comparison

Not sure if I'm missing something, but if I enter my current deal (Octopus Flexible) in MSE Cheap Energy Club, it doesn't give me a comparison vs Octopus fixed. Is this correct?

I'm in a similar situation. The Octopus Tariff i'm on Loyal Octopus 12M Fixed July 2023 v1 only shows on Uswitch. I tried MSE, GoCompare, Which, Moneysupermarket (which powers MSE as well), Quotezone and Compare the Market none of which list my current Octopus tariff. So looks like Uswitch maybe worth a try for you. Just tried Confused.com and my Octopus tariff doesn't show on there either.
  • I was wondering about this as well. Thinking of locking deal but it would help knowing their planned changes for a few months ahead.

Surely it's easy enough to take your historic/expected consumption and multiply by the unit price for both the old and any new tariff  you're interested in, then add the standing charge for each fuel which is  simply the daily rate multiplied by 365. Just put in any tariff as your present one and you'll get a list of what's available and you can take it from there with your own calculations.

I'd always double check any figures given by comparison sites anyway.

Fixes are rising almost by the day at present - not surprisingly given that wholesale rates for the winter have risen 20% in the past couple of weeks or so. I'd suggest that ten minutes with a calculator and a pen and paper would be a better use of time rather than searching fruitlessly for a website that might do the sums for you.
