Car hit the the grill while parking in my bay. What to do next

So I hit the grill on my wall while parking in the allocated parking space in my building parking lot. There is no damage to the grill or any other thing except for my car and from what I understand the repair should cost less than my insurance excess. Can anyone please suggest how should I proceed? Please don't be harsh, I am already cursing myself a lot.

Legally you should inform both the building owner and your insurer to report an incident, regardless if you intend to claim.
If as you say there is no damage to the building and your damage is minor, you could just find somewhere to repair the car at your cost and say nothing. The risk is that the building owner decides to contact your insurer to claim for damage.
Choice is yours really.

Had a similar thing happen to me, one of the district nurses scraped my car at work, rather than go through our insurance I had a couple of quotes for a smart repair, I’ve just had it done at a cost of £240 ( he paid) , we never informed our insurance companies, if there is no damage to the building then I wouldn’t bother telling them, just get a quote for a smart repair …1

Are you talking about a grill on the wall (whatever that night be!) or are you talking about the radiator grille on your car?

(I assumed you meant the radiator grille until you said it wasn't damaged but that your car was damaged. So I'm confused...)0 -
Your going to be flooded with replies saying to inform your insurance company of any incidents - which the policy does state
in reality in there’s no damage to the building and repairs below excess you can just repair yourself1 -
"Parking lot"? Which country are you in?0

If no damage to building & car is driveable with no sharp edges, then nothing to stop you leaving it like that or just source some parts & fix.Life in the slow lane0

Age of your car? If it is over say 5-7 years and is only cosmetic just leave it. If it is younger and will materially affect the resale value just pay to get it repaired.
If you want to pay increased insurance premiums inform your insurer.0 -
Just make sure you are good at lying... obviously most people do get away with their fraud but have seen plenty of cases of incidents coming to light during a second more serious accident which has resulted in the policy being voided and the insured being personally liable for the injuries they caused.cw8825 said:Your going to be flooded with replies saying to inform your insurance company of any incidents - which the policy does state
