Autoglass Damaged my wifes car
Hello All,
I am hoping somebody will be able to advise on the next steps for my wife to take towards auto glass.
In January (yes this has been on going for a while now) my wife had a new windscreen fitted by auto glass.
Once work had been completed and signed off she noticed there was now a dent in her dashboard and scratches along her media screen. She contacted Autoglass, who did not respond to her emails at all.
After a few ignored emails she contacted the financial ombudsman who sped things along for her.( i assumed autoglass was notified that someone had opened a case against them)
Autoglass came out and assessed the damage to her car and was told she would hear from them in due course. Since then nothing has been heard from Autoglass.
She has recently asked for an update from the financial ombudsman and they stated that they are unable to help.
So due to the damage to her car should she want to sell in the future it would negatively effect the price she would be offered.
Please can someone help advise the next steps to get this sorted?

Do you know how much it would cost to repair privately?
then can be pursued from autoglass0 -
Do you know why the Financial Services Ombudsman can't help? Is it a matter of time or jurisdiction? The comments I post are my personal opinion. While I try to check everything is correct before posting, I can and do make mistakes, so always try to check official information sources before relying on my posts.0

I would guess it's because the insurance company often pays for windscreen repair.
If it sticks, force it.
If it breaks, well it wasn't working right anyway.1 -

So unless a complaint was put into the insurance co & they dismissed it then you could go to FOS, but it would not get any work done. They could instruct ins co to work with Autoglass to get it sorted though.
Small claims court if you get a quote to repair the damage.Life in the slow lane1 -

I have advised her to get a quote for the work to be completed and fixed, i have also advised her to contact her insurance company and see if they can assist with getting a response from autoglass who have been very poor with their responses and only replied when they were informed by the FOB of the case.
hopefully there will be some movement if she follows this guidance.
She is not someone who complains officially so this is all new to her so she has probably jumped the gun by going to FOS.
But as she has not had much luck i am having to step in. So looking for a bit of advise before i go to town0
