Insurance Incease after buying a house

Its that time of year for getting insurance qoutes. Im just going through process of buying a house. So i was comparing prices for my current address and my new address.
The new address is around £150 extra . Its a different area so it is what it is . I dont like it but i accept it. But if i do a qoute with the yes i am a home owner button ticked its an extra £200 on top of the extra £150 .
How does this make sense i thought you were supposed to get cheaper insurance when your a home owners

Why would you be comparing prices between addresses?

To know how much it will cost and which company to choose. I did the same and learned that at my new address current isurer will increase the cost by £24 per annum and Aviva would increase by £300 per annum. So, choice was obvious to stay with the same insurer as both companies offered similar price at current address and totally different at new address.1
