Insurance as a first time buyer

Hello all, first time buyers here

Currently at the end of our first house purchase (waiting on date for exchange) and need to have an insurance policy in place at that time. Does anyone know any companies that would be willing to insure the property between the date of exchange and the date of completion (we have plans in place for an insurance policy after this time).

The house is of non-standard construction (Wimpey no-fines) and currently unoccupied.

Apologies if this question has already been answered!

Thanks!

It's a long time since I was in the same position, but then I think the solicitor who was doing the conveyancing was able to source something- they tend to have connections with various insurance companies for indemnity insurance etc, so perhaps try asking them..

Ask the insurer you have in mind for the post-completion cover (buildings and contents, presumably) if they can do this for a specified period and (maybe) extra cost.

As it's empty: exchange and completion may be on the same day anyway (check with your Solicitor what they are proposing).  Why would you want a longer gap between the two events, anyway?
