We had a very basic 2 wills with a firm that has ceased trading, new company took over and we had meeting at our home to draft details for 2 new Trust wills. After chasing up, we received drafts and not happy with them , here's the rub, we paid upfront over 2.5k for these wills and 2 LPA docs but now want to change our minds and have basic wills once again, ar we ok asking for full refund for wills and LPA docs as we've since learned that Trust wills can be a problem and online registering ourselves for LPAs is simple and about 1/4 price we've been charged for the drafts. We have not signed any of the drafts nor approved. we have another meeting scheduled to discuss and when I asked about the money already paid[sounds ludicrous now] he said he will advise us at second telephone consultation. I now feel we've been complete idiots parting with so much money for something unseen! what were we thinking?? can I dcemand full reimbursement as we no longer wish to proceed.?

As they have already done the work unlikely. Presumably this is a will writing company rather a local solicitor. What sort of trust are we talking about? Life interest trusts should not cause any real problems and protect you beneficiaries in the event the surviving spouse remarries and fails to make a new will or leaves everything to the new spouse. Any other types of trust should probably be avoided.1

The solution might be to.make fresh wills, with a solicitor which revoke previous wills, and write off the money you've spent to "experience".0
