Hi all
Energy and bills isn’t my forte so wonder if anyone can advise. I’m on a So energy fixed tariff due to end mid July. I have found another fixed deal with Octopus but do I wait until after 1st July to fix due to the price cap decrease or can that be risky to wait(

Fixed price deals don't last very long, these days. Any fix will take into account the price cap going up in October and January and falling again in March.
What is your motivation for fixing; knowing what you are going to pay, or saving money? If the latter than look at TOU tariffs (you'll need a working smart meter to benefit).

If energy and bills are not the posters forte as they state the TOU section of your reply probably is not the best advice.Netexporter said:Fixed price deals don't last very long, these days. Any fix will take into account the price cap going up in October and January and falling again in March.

Fixes are subjective they provide certainty for the fix period and are good for financial planning if you know what energy you use in a year. They don't necessarily save you money although the latest outfox the market fixed tariff may well prove to be a good deal over the next year. But not guaranteed.0
