Car Insurance / points not on DVLA yet

Hi
I recently received a fine/points (for mobile use while driving).
I've just told my insurers and they've advised that they will not continue to cover me - they will be cancelling my policy in one month.
So I went to some comparison sites, declare everything and got some quotes. But the insurance companies are not taking the convictions details from the comparison site. Instead, I think they take their information directly from the DVLA. However, the DVLA have not yet updated their records to show the incident.
So I'm struggling to work out how to declare everything accurately.
When I've tried to just process the quote as it stands - on the assumption that they (and I) will have to deal with the impact of the fine/points when they appear on the DVLA records) - the quotes will not process. I would guess this is because they're detecting discrepancies.
But I want to declare the accurate facts - they just won't let me!
Any advice on how I can proceed?
Thanks in advance.
Kristian

Another quick thought - could it be because the existing policy has been cancelled?Sometimes in anger we seem to forget

Rather than using comparison site, go direct to ins companies site or ring them.Life in the slow lane2

Don't put your driving licence number in when doing the quote and declare the conviction manually.1

So I'll need to call every insurance company separately for a quote, you think?Rather than using comparison site, go direct to ins companies site or ring them.
Ay caramba.
That wasn't an option on the 2 sites I've tried so far (Aviva and LV) but perhaps there are others that will work.Marksfish said:Don't put your driving licence number in when doing the quote and declare the conviction manually.
I suspect I'm going to get declined by some (many?) which will drag out what feels like it might already be a long process - but there we go. Some may argue I deserve everything I get. 🤷♀️Sometimes in anger we seem to forget

Do you intend to cancel your existing policy before the caompany do it and so avoid having a cancellation on your record?1

To be honest, now that I've told them I'm not sure it will matter either way - my suspicion would be that the "cancellation" will be common knowledge.sheramber said:Do you intend to cancel your existing policy before the caompany do it and so avoid having a cancellation on your record?
However, with hindsight, I would've certainly considered doing that, yes.Sometimes in anger we seem to forget

Update: I went back to my current provider and they advised that my situation is not regarded as a cancellation in the sense that it's meant on the quotes / comparison sites.
