Amazon not recognising account

Im. ahving a problem with Amazon. Ive had an accounfor for over 15 years. A couple of months ago I was unable to log in. I ramng Amazon and they said ther is no account with my email despite me sending them copies of emails I received from them to that email address. Everyone I email or speak to says the same thing. I keep being told to open a new account which will not solve my issues.

I have lost my account with all my regular orders
  *
I have paid for Amazon Prime which I am not able to use
  *
I have purchased Audible books which I am now not able to use
  *
My TV and Alexa will not work
  *
I have purchased over 1000 kindle books that I am not able to access

Has anybody else had similar issues??

Could your account have been hacked and the person has changed the registered email?

  • Hi.This is a possibility. I cancelled all my cards saved to Amazon as soon as it happened just in case. The crazy thing is that Amazon are saying that my account never existed...15+ years or orders etc lost! They just keep telling me to open a new account but Ive spent a lot of money here in ebooks etc that they don't seem to care about!

Where did you get the number to call Amazon from? Please tell me you didn't use one from an email.

It's a scammers trick to send you emails that look like Amazon but your actually speaking to them.

They were unable to login - not an email to say their account had been terminated.

OP - when you try to reset your password, do you get an error or an email or anything? Was there any emails (maybe to your spam?) about your account closure?

Unfortunately - the issue with digital media through a platform is, as you’ve found out, you don’t own it; merely you get a license to use it for as long as you have an account and Amazon offers the service to you. Hopefully you’ll be able to get the account back.

if nothing else works - you could submit a SAR to see what information Amazon holds on you

I know they weren’t able to log in but the OP clearly says they received emails from them.

I think the emails referred to were from before access was lost, such as order confirmation , dispatch information.

But that’s how the scam works and how they get control of the account. They send you emails that aren’t quite right so you call the number on the email thinking you are talking to Amazon. You’re actually helping them gain access to the account and then you can’t log in.
