Letter left by DMS Fieldcall

Hi
I’ve had a letter left by DMS Fieldcall asking to contact an agent as a matter of urgency. It’s not actually addressed to me, just the occupier and there’s no reference as to what it’s regarding. I don’t have any outstanding debts that are in arrears or anything as far as I’m aware - I had a ccj on my car but that will be spent later this year and I’ve had no contact from the finance company in six years.
Should I contact them? I don’t want them at my house! Any help or advice gratefully received, thank you!

I think I'd want something addressed to me personally and making a specific allegation before engaging

Ccjs never become spent as such but do drop off your credit file and cannot be enforced without specific permission from the court, at the 6 yr point.

I just thought it strange - it’s just addressed “for the attention of the occupier” at my address with no other info apart from a DMS reference number and their contact number.
Sorry, I used the wrong word - I meant it’s non-enforceable later this year/early next year. I can’t see it being that though, after all this time and with a CCJ in place.
Should I contact them or just leave it?

If they want to talk to you, Herm21, they should address a letter to Herm21.  Sounds like a fishing exercise.

If they show up again tell them to put their business in a letter that they can post to you.  Don't open the door to them, don't let them in, don't fall for any lines like "it's pouring with rain and I need the loo, do you mind if I step inside?"  The answer is no.  If they persist tell them they are harassing you and you are going to phone the police.  If they get aggressive, pull out your phone and film (or pretend to) and they will back down immediately.

They are not bailiffs. Just a tracing organisation afaik.

I doubt they will cause any problem but don't see why you should assist them.

I thought the same - surely it would be addressed to me properly or have more detail? What could they be fishing for? To be honest, I’m never at home during the day as I’m out at work, so it’s highly unlikely they would catch me in. Hopefully it won’t come to any of that though, but thank you!

I did look them up online and found they offer tracing and debt recovery services among others. I don’t really want to contact them, so perhaps I should leave it. Thank you for your advice.

Further to yesterday’s post/thread, I’ve now had a missed call from the mobile number given on the letter that was left two days ago. Should I do anything?

Sure, delete it, and stop worrying, if they write to you, that`s a different matter.

They are just a tracing/collection company, self employed folk who get paid by results, similar to Resolvecall.

If they call ask them what its all about, or ask them to write to you, either way its just like chatting to the postman, or lady, debt does not have to be scary, its only that way if you make it so, dealt with in the right way, its just another issue to take care of, so take care of it.
