Good morning folks. I slept a little later than I normally do and woke myself by coughing. One day it may go away.Yesterday didn't quite pan out how it was planned. My cleaner came in good time so I went out, thought I'd try a wee cafe which opened in our museum, it was a mistake. I had a really miserable and fatty bacon roll. I don't mind fatty bacon if it's cooked properly, this one wasn't. I took a bag of rubbish to the tip, it'd been in the car overnight which wasn't the best idea. 😀
The chimney sweep phoned to reschedule the clean. The big house had a last minute change of booking so postponed him so it would have been a long trek for him to come just for me. The stove isn't being used I was happy to wait a bit longer. As the sun was blazing its heart out, trying to overcome the still nasty wind, I decided to cut the grass, think I had lowered the blades too much as it's rather scalped. I'm sure it'll grow back. I took the cuttings to the tip but it was closed as they were changing the huge waste containers, I'll go back this morning. I'm pleased that it's done as heavy rain is forecasted to sweep in later today.Today I'm back to having no plans. 😀
I hope that everyone is doing well, that the insomniacs got some rest and that our poorlies are resting up.11 -
Morning all - Gers thanks for the start, I kept looking for a thread and didn’t want to duplicate!DF’s hospital visit went well - he’s set for a new knee next month. He’s going private after years of trying to persuade him to spend some money on himself! I think, like a lot of his generation, he didn’t feel it was the right thing to do. Anyway his GP didn’t seem inclined to investigate the pain further or do more X-rays. Seeing the consultant yesterday and in an hour he’d had an initial chat, three X-rays done and a further consultation. The arthritis is right behind his kneecap which doesn’t show on regular prone X-rays and was evident even to my amateur eyes when pointed out.B-dog and I managed a great river and reservoir walk and he swam which pleased him immensely 🐶.Today I’m dropping off some charity donations then going to an English heritage site for a walk. Then some time spent working on a colour palette for my craft business -it needs a revamp and some consistency.Best wishes to all the poorlies and those awaiting news and tests

Good morning, it's sunny here. Better not say too much or the sun will clear off just to teach me a lesson.
That cough is hanging on Gers, though coughs do tend to.
Allie, hope you had some good ideas for your craft business.
Thank you for the good wishes about my health problems folks, you're all very kind. I'll explain more when I know more, but don't want to bore everyone.
I got through the day yesterday and granddaughter and I had a good time at the Metrocentre. They grow up quickly don't they, at 11.5 years old she's quite the young woman.
I'm not planning on going out today, heaven knows there's enough to do here.
Hope Mr F is ok Florence, sounds a bit worrying. Thoughts to our other poorlies, and anyone who is a bit sad.
Take care folks.

Morning all
Bright sunshine here today but still a chill on the air I am retreating to bed earlier and earlier it was just after 8 last night 😂 it’s warmer in bed ! DD on the other hand is sweltering they had 40deg yesterday and meant to be hotter today they have planned a swim and look round the shops this morning and then back to the room with air con while the heat is at it’s worst and then out in the evening when it’s slightly cooler for dinner.
I am off to work today will go and collect Rob and take him to work he is in the cafe today so we will do some baking which will be nice, I am looking forward to my day off tomorrow though a day where I don’t have to care or look after anyone although I do have to take my mum to hospital in the afternoon.
Gers when I stopped the BIAB for a while my nails underneath went straight back to how they were before very flaky and weak I think I’m right in that it only strengthens them while it’s on so be careful about removing it as I think you will be back to square one xx
Dinner tonight will be Bao buns with chicken goujons and salad, I have put a wash on this morning hopefully it will finish before I go to work so I can hang it out.
Have good days all and take care xx9 -
Good morning all
Thank you for the start Gers, you confused me. today is the 13th
Looks like it's going to be a dry today followed by several days of rain. I'll mow the lawn and do a few jobs in the garden. At least with the rain I won't have to do any watering
Need to look at home insurance, renewal price is up over £100 on last year.
Take care

Morning all. The sun is currently shining here.
Unfortunately the penicillin isn't helping my sinus infection so I've filled in another online form and will get a phone call back this morning. I'm just fed up with it and would like to feel better soon!
Luckily I don't have anything planned for today but have been reading the latest Cormoran Strike novel that I got from the Library so can get on with that whilst waiting for the phone call. I've taken some salmon out of the freezer for tonight, which we'll have with roasted veg. Whilst the oven was on the other day I made some no sugar granola, which I've been having for breakfast so might need to make some more today.
Gers; I think we all have days like that, when nothing goes to plan. Hope today's an improvement.
Best wishes to all

Morning all.
Had a bad evening with Mr F - thought he was on the way to another mental breakdown - I am not letting him go out on his own.

Morning all. I was going to wash the car this morning but I'm wondering whether it's a better idea to take it to the car wash. And I'm feeling lazy. It's such a struggle sometimes to do things. I have all sorts of things left undone I should be getting on and doing but consistent motivation is not happening. I did clear out some stuff from the garage yesterday and pile up more stuff by the side of th house for a tip run on Monday. Seeing heart blokey today if it isn't cancelled again. I've been asking for an unltrasound again since last year to see if it's gotten worse [ for me, I think it has] because he tells me about a particular drug that's had good results, but again, unless I'm significantly worse, like can't walk ten metres worse, nothing is going to happen. I'm wondering whether to go private myself, but that won't happen for a good few months with all the other stuff that's going on. It's whingeing day from em today so apologies. The green bn is about to be emptied so no excuses for the carGers, sorry about your one step forward two back kind of day, hopefully it'll be better today
Although I do find no one cooks bacon like I like it, it's never crispy enough on the fat bits
Allie, good on him, my parents were the same, they didn't feel they should too. Have fun re thinking, soemtimes you need a step back to see a big picture. SO, ring them up and see what they can offer you as well as going on a comparison site. I'm with Admiral and they are consistently cheaper than anything I find online but I still have to look obviously.I do have multi insirance so where one would be cheaper elsewhere, the other being much cheaper makes up for it and more. Ruby, with you on the cold, I was again with the pyjama last night and I still woke up cold. Have a nice day off tomorrow. Florence, how very worrying, did they leave you with a contact number when he came out of hospital last time? And have you been writing down his symptoms? Izzy, hope your doggie is better today and I laughed at like a cow looking over the fence
My evil gran slammed my hand in a car door once, I thought it was an accident but my mother told me years later it hadn't been...She was married because she had to be but never let go of feelings of grandeur. It's quite sad in a way, we think we're a lot freer than we were a hundred years ago but in some respects, things don't change at all. Anyway, hope you are all taking care even in difficult circumstances..

Morning everyone I’m out to a cleaning job soon I’ve got a line off washing out I’ve give hubby instructions to keep an eye on it it’s dry at the minute but rain is forecast but if I can get it out for a couple of hours it helps . I was only up twice with the little dog last night 1 and 4 while I was cleaning up outside she was been sick on the carpet🤬but she has been running about like a puppy this morning and is now snoozing. Gers I think you should have got back into bed and got out of the other side yesterday nothing went to plan for you how frustrating AA my hubby has had two new knees on the nhs in the last 3 years but he waited a long time and was at the point where he was in a lot of pain and couldn’t walk anywhere but when you get to that stage it takes longer to recover because you have to make up for your lost mobility as well if we could have afforded it we would definitely have paid . WL I’m a fan of the strike books also Simon mcleave I hope you get some joy when you get your call back . Silver Oldie every bill you get in seems to have gone up we have had to really look about for insurance but still ended up spending a bit more I don’t know where they get there figures from . Ruby I go to bed early to read it’s warmer can’t believe it’s June we should be sitting outside. Scarlet you will have a empty purse now pleased you enjoyed your little shopping trip must dash . Thinking of all the poorlies hugs to those that need them have a good day everyone whatever you are doing8
