Moving from Tesco to tesco

in Credit cards
Hi all,
I was accepted for a Tesco balance transfer credit card with a 12 month 0% interest period which ends in may. Reading the latest MSE weekly email they state that there are 2 cards with 28 months available with one of them being Tesco. Do you think Tesco would allow me to open one of their 28 month cards and transfer the outstanding amount from the first card to the 28 month card or would it simply be a case of apply to see what the options are?
I wouldn't want to apply and they at some point turn round and say sorry but even although it initially looked like you would be accepted we are now not going to allow this?
Sorry to waffle on
Kind regards Mark

Generally you can't transfer balances to a card within the same banking group so I doubt this would be possible, unless you can do it via a different card.0

You may find it tricky to open two cards from the same provider (I'm not saying it's impossible, some banks will let you have two cards with them). But you won't be able to do a balance transfer between them. As noted by the previous poster, you'd need to go via an intermediary card - which would entail two transfer fees. And if you can get an intermediary card, I can't see what you'd gain by doing two transfers, you may as well leave it on the intermediary card.Unless the new Tesco card offers a much longer promotional period than the intermediary card - but even then, you'd be better to take the offer from the intermediary card and then do another transfer to Tesco when needed. OK, Tesco may not be offering the same terms in a year's time or whatever, but if it were me I'd take the chance - even if Tesco don't have any offers in the future, it's likely that other cards will.0

Check the new card's T&C's for Balance Transfers, it should say if a transfer from another Tesco card is allowed.0

Go for the other, or go for a lower month one
I would run a basic eligibility checker on say the MSE site and then do a proper (soft) search on the provider's own site and then go from there.
To reiterate the above, a Tesco BT to Tesco BT will almost certainly not be allowedSam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:
People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.
