Hanging basket chains
I've just bought some replacement hanging basket chains because the old ones were badly rusted . There wasn't an option to get rust-resistant chains for the type of baskets I already have. Is there any way I can prevent these new ones from rusting? Thank you.

Not really. You can paint them but because they're chains you will end up missing bits or gluing bits together. But if you fancy making your own, check out a hardware store and ask them if they have some aluminium chain.

Lightweight stainless steel chain would be my preference. Local hardware store would probably even cut it to lengths for you.Or Amazon, B&Q etc etc
Aluminium would work - but not quite as strong.Or you can try an expensive diy zinc plating kit2
