Lease vehicle recalls
Options
We have an all electric ionic5 Hyundai on a 4 year lease deal. The car has been recalled numerous times in the 2+ years we have had it, we are getting fed up of this. Not only because the dealership is 13 miles away, but we have to take time out (2 of us), to take the car and collect it, all in 8-5pm working hours. Not to mention the safety aspect! Have we any right to give this car back without penalty? We have asked for a surrender fee and we have to pay nearly 4K to give it back. Would appreciate some advice or signposting please. Many thanks. Ali

It's not a PCP its a lease so no right to VT. Read your lease document. By the time you can do anything about returning the car and jumping through all the hoops the lease will probably be just about up.
13 miles isn't too far, you could always ask them to collect it. I'm sure the garage will be only too happy to bill Hyundai (if they can).
My advice run the lease to the end.1 -
Yeah, it’s a lease not PCP. But was just checking to see if anyone out there had challenged something similar and had success. Thanks though.0
