Hi all,
Quick question, when it comes to having direct debits set up for a switch, when is the earliest you can switch, is it as soon as you arrange a DD or only after the first payment has been taken?
I use 50pdirectdebit and was wondering if I need to wait the 5 days or so until the money actually leaves the account before I do the switch?
Any help is much appreciated!

In my experience as long as the DD mandates are showing on your account (ie. you can see them in your online banking) then they should be okay to switch. Safest bet though is to wait until they pay out at least once. Given you can usually schedule a switch for a few weeks in advance, it might be worth scheduling it for a date after you expect the DDs to be taken if you're worried about them not switching over properly.1
