My Daughter unwittingly paid her university accommodation rent twice (once by bank transfer and then again by DD as she wasn’t quick enough cancelling it). After many correspondence and evidence to prove the over payment they agreed to a refund but over a month later she still hasn’t received anything. Does she have any consumer rights she can exercise/threaten to exercise to try and get the money back sooner? Thanks

but if not it is the housing provider who should refund her. Was this for a months payment or a longer period?0 -
Your daughter can mention the Direct Debit Guarantee and her consumer rights to push the university accommodation to refund her more quickly.
