Hello
I currently earning over £100k a year.
I currently earning over £100k a year.
I am putting a % away into a pension via my employer - a company pension plan by aviva (a% my contributions plus 3% my employers contributions.) It is a salary sacrifice arrangement ie not the net relief at source arrangement.
I am then putting some money away per month into a private pension to bring me under £100k.
I am then putting some money away per month into a private pension to bring me under £100k.
However in speaking to the government childcare scheme, they mentioned that workplace pensions can’t be used to bring your salary down and only private pensions - I can’t find anything about this online. Have I misheard?! Based on the information provided on my company pension arrangement, am I ok? Or do I need to shift all payments into a private pension to still be able to claim tax free + 15 hours free for my 2 year old?
Thank you!

Is your company pension comes out as salary sacrifice?
im in the same boat and trying to figure it out. I’ve just increased my company pension contribution to bring my adjusted net income under 100k but gov childcare account is still showing as pending so I don’t know if I’ll qualify0
