Carers Allowance and inheritance

Options
Hi, I'm currently claiming carers allowance for my mother, I have been for around 6 years now.  I also work part-time (self-employed) earning less than the allowed £128 pw, so the only benefit I claim is the carers allowance.

My mother wants to leave her house to me in her will when she passes on, but I read a recent case where a carer who received an inheritance had to repay their CA.  This doesn't make sense as surely once the person you're caring for passes on you'll no longer be claiming the CA in any case.  Is there some sort of retroactive rule whereby CA needs to be repaid if the recipient comes into an inheritance from the person they once cared for?

Sorry if this is a bit of a daft question, I guess I'm just after some peace of mind of what the actual rules are.
