Giving up on AA just because they said no, what on earth were you thinking.
You are at war now, no retreat no surrender.
Get back in the fight and never give up.
Ive helped my friend who I care for claim, ESA Support group and PiP enhanced rates.
Tribunal was hard work, but judge and Dr were great.

Does she have falls, unable to get to the loo in time etc.
Unable to bend down, dress, wash etc.
Unable to cook, use knives as slips and cuts herself, burns spilling hot tea or water cooking.
    All these needs = points.
Be brutally honest when filling out forms.
We have 5 sets of bedding, accidents happen.
One on the bed, two in the wash and spare sets.

No help will be forthcoming until she gets AA for eg.
Then get onto occupational therapy, we did.
Took 3 months for visit, one week later a rise and recliner chair arrived, 3 weeks and ramp and handles were fitted.
About 8 weeks later the DFG had been approved.
Low access shower, sink and raised toilet were fitted.
After the bathroom had been knocked through.

    Get back into the fight.
Never send original letter or documents.
    Keep copies of everything forever.
    Good luck.

The trouble getting the DFG, it takes a long time.

Where I live, I'm 2 months into a 10 month waiting list just to be assessed
You do know that breaches the DFG Guidelines? Council should be following guidelines for DFG assessments, been through the same and due to endless delays was awarded £2000 by the council for delays which contributed to resident being unable to take care of personal care needs.

I have been referred by Social Services but haven't filled in any application forms yet.

From the letter I received dated 15th April (looks like it took them over 5 weeks to look at my referral)

Due to the high number of cases we are currently handling, it is estimated the survey will take place in approximately 10 months.
When the survey date is approaching, the application forms will be sent to you.

    When does the clock ticking?
