Wiping phone for sale - remove Google Account?

Hi,

Grateful for some help please on preparing phone for sale = removing all personal data and leaving phone usable for new owner.

It's a Huawei P30 Pro.

We know about factory reset but on a previous phone when we did this, when switching phone back on after reset, it still asked us to enter old Google Account details once the phone was reset.

How do we ensure Google Account log in and all personal Google Account info is first removed before doing a factory reset pls?

Also for WhatsApp, is it safe just to "uninstall" the app from the phone before factory reset - will this ensure all WhatsApp info is safely removed prior to factory reset?

Many thx.

Not being sarcastic, the answer as to how to delete your account can be found on.....Google.

As for apps, you can always delete the stored cache and data before you uninstall the app.

If you needed a password, I don't see the problem.

That’s no good if you are selling the phone!

OP, it’s called Factory Reset Protection. As you’ve guessed if you are getting rid of the device you just need to go into settings and accounts then remove your account. Or you can do this online from the Google Dashboard.

Once that’s done you can use the factory reset option.

The OP had already done that.

I think you’ve missed the point of why a password was requested.

but that's not what the OP said, he said it asked for account details, not just for the password which implies that the account had been deleted and then needed the details to be re-instated.

Perhaps the OP could clarify what details it asked for to avoid confusion
