Left mobile phone in my hotel room abroad

Does anyone know of a courier service that will collect a parcel from Albania to deliver back to me in the UK? I discovered that my phone was left in the hotel room and I would rather arrange to have it collected. I'm just a bit baffled by the import/export stuff. On checking DHL, you need as EORI number?

Write it off as a loss
Simplest and easiest
Or claim in travel insurance if possibleEx forum ambassador

Cost around £60 with an estimated four day delivery time.0 -
Have fun trying to get someone to ship anything with a Lithium battery not in consumer packaging.0

As above - you might be able to claim it as lost for insurance purposes. The company will want details - best read your policy to see under what circumstances they would accept a claim.0

Has the hotel confirmed it's been found? Have they offered to send it to you for a cost?
There are plenty of courier comparison sites you can use and whilst they default as UK to Abroad you can easily switch them (though often more expensive to do the reverse trip)
Never had any issues sending mobiles/laptops etc, couriers dont have issues with built in batteries in these types of small devices. It's non-built in ones or the much larger batteries found on escooters etc.Ayr_Rage said:Have fun trying to get someone to ship anything with a Lithium battery not in consumer packaging.0 -
Thanks for all of your replies. The hotel confirmed that they have it but have gone very quiet. Will probably write if off to be honest as I am struggling to find a courier company that will collect it.0

Have you looked to see if there are any cheap flights with RyanAir, easyJet, Wizzair which perhaps allow a day trip or over night stay to collect the phone yourself?0
