Etsy parcel missing

So I got an item from Etsy. The parcel was delivered to wrong address so I asked for a refund and for seller to claim via Royal Mail. That said Royal Mail will collect item from wrong address never heard of that. My wife told them we are away on holiday but they have to the 18th to collect parcels so wait longer. Royal Mail turned up on Monday but I was out but never left a card. So what can I do? I know eBay you can escalate it but it seems the item may never show and seller doesn’t seem to want to send a replacement? Keeps saying Royal Mail will collect from wrong address and redeliver been 2 weeks?

I rarely use etsy so don't know what the rules are on there but usually proof of delivery takes seller off the hook entirely.

However, my own lost parcel last year , an ebay order which Royal Mail confirmed in writing they had delivered to the wrong address, was, according to Royal mail, not able to be recollected as recipient would not return parcel. In that instance seller was told not to refund me by ebay as they had proof of delivery - Royal mail wouldn't refund me (which I am still furious about) but ultimately after issuing formal letters regarding legal action, ebay refunded me as a goodwill gesture. 

All I can suggest is keep the conversation open with seller, etsy and Royal mail, contact each of them every day and be prepared to issue legal action against Royal mail if they have confirmed the mis delivery but refuse any compensation. Mine was slightly complicate din that RM originally said that only seller could raise a claim- but seller was using a RM business account which precluded any claims, so was being told he could not claim.

If this was eBay on appeal they may well consider the content of the messages where the seller admits it went to the wrong address but I don't know what Etsy will do, certainly worth a go if the seller isn't helping.

I guess the address isn't close by to have a knock and see if they have the parcel?

I know Etsy are painfully slow to sort anything out.
Depending on how payment was made you may get better results going through that. If it was Paypal it should certainly be easier.
Failing that I'd try messaging Etsy on Twitter.
