Hot water ...No Central Heating

My central heating just stopped mid flow 3 nights ago .
The hot water still works fine and ,I originally thought it was air locked so have bled the system ..over a bathfull of water from radiater outlets all over the house .
This is a worcester bosch highflow 400 that is not a sealed system but fills from a header tank in the loft .The boiler is on the third floor ..
If I turn the boiler on it fires up for about 30 seconds then the fire stops and a kind of gushing sound comes from around the pump area ..this is sporadic and seems to be dependent on how hot the boiler gets to .
I think maybe the pump has given up it's duties ..If any one has any advice ..that will either start the old boiler heating once again or help me determin the extent of my problem I would much apreciate it .
My 2 options are a mate who is ex British gas and corgi registered who could fit parts for me ...or phone worcester up and pay for a flat fee fix ...If it's the pump ,worcester may be as cheap as fitting a new pump (Just I get a full gaurantee)

Hi
The pump would be my first choice.Get your mate to check it if you don't fancy finding the pump and taking the screw off the front and seeing if it's free and runs with power on. (small 3/4mm blade screwdriver in the hole)

Right then Little silver screw removed ..very hot water bubbling around the middle and runs down onto the tank at the bottom .when you say screw driver in hole ,do you mean push it in ?...It makes a greating noise(I didn't push very hard ) ..definately spinning round ..?
Thanks for the reply .0 -
Can't make out if you have sorted this yet!
I had the same problem, only my timer had broke?
At least the weather has been milder for the past few days!

Sorry for late reply, I had an engineer out who came to this comclusion. Whilst waiting for a new timer he done a temporary fix? (have no idea sorry, he took the timer apart and either put a screw in or took one out!) I could use it manually from the boiler, putting the rads on up to at least 70 degress.
Sorry I can't be of more help but someone here might know what I am on about?
