I recently downloaded CreditKarma following advice on another thread, and finding it really helpful.
So it is advising me to avoid opening more than one new account in six months… but… I opened a new account with a hard search end of April, and now I want to do a bank switch of an established account to Santander (or similar) as part of a planned migration.

Not only this… but I will also want to get a new mortgage in the next 3-6 months in context of upcoming divorce.
Also, I’m currently addressing £6k in unsecured, aiming to improve credit utilisation.
Should I leave the switch to next year…? The £175 would be nice and help with the unsecured repayments, but it’s not essential.
Any and all advice much appreciated!

It has been recommended that you don’t make any applications for 6 months before a mortgage
I too am thinking of applying for a mortgage in 1-6 months time and I recently opened a Santander current account and credit card so not sure if I will get accepted if I’ve had applications within the 6 months.1 -
