Hi.
I would appreciate any help in finding the best deal for the RAM upgrade required on my laptop. I would like to avoid ebay if possible. Half price would be nice (and consitent with my sig
).
My laptop is a Sony Vaio VGN-C2S series. I have run the Crucial Scan and read manufacturer guides to find I currently have 2x512mb and would like to upgrade to 2x1gb.
Crucial quotes £33(+delivery?). Can this price be beat at another reliable competitor?
Apparently I need "DDRII memory with support for DDR2 PC2-5300,DDR2 PC2-4200 speeds". I am not sure what the 5300/4200 part means and how to distinguish these at another site.

I have looked on Aria.co.uk but there are many options and a range of prices so I am unsure about which to choose. Any pointers?
Many thanks.

Also crucial gives me the options of
CT673992 DDR2 PC2-5300 • CL=5 • Unbuffered • NON-ECC • DDR2-667 • 1.8V • 128Meg x 64
or
CT673993 DDR2 PC2-4200 • CL=4 • Unbuffered • NON-ECC • DDR2-533 • 1.8V • 128Meg x 64
I do not know the difference I have looked on Aria.co.uk but there are many options and a range of prices so I am unsure about which to choose. Any pointers?

7dayshop does the higher clock rate one for £11.49 each:

And given the different CAS latency (lower is better) it looks as though there probably isn't much to choose between PC2-5300 and PC2-4200, but you might as well go with the former.
I think 7ds also have a half-price deal on postage, but that might only have been up until xmas...0 -
Thanks. Can anyone beat the £25 delivered at 7dayshop?They say you can't put a value on life... but I live it at half price!0
