Probate when married couple die in quick succession

Both of my parents have recently died and I am applying for probate.
Father left everything to my mother (his wife) who died 32 days later.
I am an only child and their will leaves everything to me.

I have some questions about how to apply for probate in this scenario. Each parent has savings in their own name at a level for which probate is required but inheritance tax is not payable,

Do i need to first apply for probate for my father’s estate?
Do I need to wait for this to be awarded before starting a probate application for my mother’s estate?

You will need to start with your father as you will need to add the numbers associated with his estate to your mother’s but you don’t have to wait until it has been granted before you submit hers.
