Especially if issued by a third party self-ticketer resident who gets a reward per PCN, which looks likely here.

Is this still done? I remember when UKCPM introduced their scheme at our old address. They did send a letter to try to entice us to download their mobile APP which would allow other residents of the block to spy on each other and issue PCN's on their behalf with the promise of a £10 reward for each successful one.

Naturally, I told them to go and take a long walk down the path where the sun doesn't shine very often.

just curious if they are still trying to resort to these dodgy tactics ?

PCM have done that at my home (see my own thread...) with a few wrinkles. They only allow "self-enforcement" on your own bay, but they charge £20 for an annual subscription to the app and you get no bounty. I don't really see the point.

Wow - what Scumbags!  So apart from trying to use members of the public to do the job of their parking attendants ( thus employing fewer people and saving on wages). They also charge £20/PA to give you the privilege of doing their work for them?

And here I was thinking that the greed of these companies couldn't sink any lower!
  • @Zbubuman no idea, the images on the PCN's are about 4/5/6am so i dont think it is a resident.

Even so, do the suggested reply and you'll find out in their reply. You could add that (even if a PPM employee took the photos) it is clearly a scam operation intended to catch out residents and authorised visitors while they are asleep at 4am/5am and not to leave any fair warning or PCN to alert victims on day one.

Identify yourself as a qualified solicitor. Say you are more than happy to see them in court and you have researched and are well aware of the tired tactics of the IPC, the IAS and notorious time-wasters Gladstones solicitors, who PPM use to file poorly pleaded claims.

Use more legalese. Be assertive. Rude even. Be more lawyerly and pushy and tell them that you have already raised a complaint with their client.

Your email needs to be MUCH more assertive and tell them who you are and that you'll see them in court if they fail to accept the reasonable offer.

Have a look at the style of the email by a solicitor poster here - @troublemaker22  - which is linked in the NEWBIES thread second post (at the end, about CCJs).  Look at the STYLE, the form of words. Not the substance which isn't relevant to you. Copy the style: e.g. "invite" them to accept the offer in the interests of resolving the dispute, etc.

  • Hi Everyone. PPML responded to my email and rejected my response and 'appeal' on the 10 charges. They have issued reminder letters and also included 2 PCN's that i didnt include in my response as i did not recieve the initial PCN letters. I also wrote to the Estate Management Company who are utterly useless and said they cannot get these cancelled even though i know they can. I have attached their response below. Can anyone advise of next steps? @Coupon-mad

You just ignore them like the Newbies FAQS thread already explains. This is nothing new that isn't covered in the Announcement thread for Newbies to read first.

Read post 4 of it then post 2, in that order.

Come back ONLY if you get a LBC or Claim Form.  We do not want to see debt demands.

  • Hi Everyone- i have recieved a letter of claim from BW legal for £600 and four unpaid parking charges (despite there being over 10 PCN's initially). The letter is in the name of the registered keeper- which is not me.
The registered keeper hasnt accepted liability or identified who the driver is- the letter of claim is asking if the debt is due or disputed, should it be completed in the registered keepers name- she disputes on the grounds she was not the driver? should it be completed by the driver and explain all of the reasons why the debt isnt due? What would these reasons be?
Any help is most appreciated. @Coupon-mad @Gr1pr
    thanks very much

But no forms are being completed by anyone. Read the second post of the NEWBIES thread again.  The LBC response is there (please don't copy & paste it here).

Decide between you all now, if the keeper is OK to get the court claim in their name and defend it next year or is now the time for the keeper to give the name & address of the driver?  Even if they already have...does the keeper want to transfer liability?

Now is the last chance for that because the Defendant can't be changed once a court claim is filed.

Not that defending a claim is hard, because it isn't!  Just decide whether the keeper or the driver is the more robust person to handle it and not panic.
